Girls rule and boys, well...cheat...

Note to trivia players, when attempting to cheat with the use of a laptop, please remember the following:

1) don't have the same person answer all the questions
2) refrain from stating "thank you internet" after your team answers correctly (no matter how under your breath you think it is)
3) find someone who can type without looking at the keyboard
4) strategically insert wrong answers, especially when you've been accused of cheating for the past 3-4 questions
5) avoid suddenly stating the answer, when up to that point it seems that no one knows it, and there's no discussion before the correct one is blurted out

and finally:

When trying to defend yourselves, keep in mind that holding both hands in the air does not prove you're not hiding a laptop on your LAP behind the table!!

Moral of the story:
The girls won 15-8 so quit whining about your one point cheating penalty...

As a side note however....the guys' strategic placement around the table and standing to get in our sightlines on the way to the bathroom, etc. was well done....

I'm not playing another trivia game created and hosted by the girls, to be played boys vs girls.

Throwing in 1 dukes of hazzard question and 1 knight rider question was well done though.

"Jem and the holograms"? really...

As there were no rules against the laptop, I disagree that it was cheating.

And don't tell me it was implied either, that stifles out of the box thinking, if it isn't implicitly (sp?) stated I think it is fair game.

Ahem.

There are a few points that I agree with. If we had planned it out more, we would have planted a few wrong answers along the way, as well as not having me yell out the right answer all the time. That was poor planning (read: B.I.S. (beer in system)) on our part.

As for the whole 'laptops are cheating'. No way. It was totally fair and to back up that statement, there were two strategically placed laptops in the room. One on the guy's side, one on the girl's side. It's like a game of Survivor. Search for the right tools for the job.

Now, onto the whole notion of the bias of the game. The game was heavily biased towards women for the sole fact that no heterosexual male (which were all in attendance on our end) know anything about the 80s, whereas, in some women's eyes (read: Joelle), if you don't know everything about the 80s, there is something wrong with you.

Hence, the trivia game was biased and we should have a more equal trivia game such as Star Wars the next time around.
