I'm moving!

Yay! It's finally happened, I'm moving into my own place!

As of Sept 1st (well, maybe more like mid-August depending when exactly I move in), I'll no longer have a roommate, I'll be all by myself :-)

I have another viewing this weekend as I didn't get to see the actual unit last time. Just one with an identical floor plan. The building's nothing too exciting on the outside, but the interior is newly renovated with nice new kitchens & bathrooms, and it also has hardwood floors. I'm pretty sure the nice, white, new-looking kitchen cabinets were all I needed to see to sell me on it!
It's a little on the small side, but as I've said several times now, not unmanageably so. Plus, there's actually a spot where my corner desk (which I love) will fit! I can only say that it had been a challenge to work that in 'til now....

I'm super excited, and of course I'll be giving out all the details seperately in an email, my apologies to those stalker-types out there ;-)

So, I'll keep people updated, and I can't wait to set up a housewarming :-D

Québec City

Hello, hello!!

For anyone wondering, I spent last week in Québec City for work. It's a tough life, I know....

The city if gorgeous, and even though I'd been once before, I didn't have the chance to really see it until now. All I can say is, if you have the opportunity to go, TAKE IT!! There is so much history there, it's incredible.

Of course, you'll all be happy to hear that this government worker also did a lot of work, because they had tons for us to learn. Made a lot of contacts, and got to know a lot about Parks Canada & its operations. Just wish that visit to La Mauricie National Park had a little more "visit" about it... *sigh*

Lessons from Floor Hockey

I like sports. I like watching them, and I like participating in them. I have a few standards that I'm comfortable in, but will obviously also play others. I know I won't always be great, but as long as I don't end up looking ridiculous, I'm usually in for pick-up type games. (Notable exception= Football...no matter how hard you try, I am very unlikely to participate)

Anyway...this is how I came to be playing floor hockey last night.
Fun? Check.
Exercise? Check.
Excess of painful welts? Uh, check.....
Lovely black eye this morning? CHECK!

So, thanks for a fun time yesterday guys :-) but can I request a little less of a beating next time? *L*
